Lent Illustrated Week 6 // Renewed Joy

Welcome to the sixth week of Lent Illustrated: Reflection and Renewal! The following prompt is an excerpted and abbreviated version of the prompt found in the eBook. Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name. For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning… You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!

(Psalm 30-4:12)

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

(Psalm 103:2-5)

Context and prompt:

Illustrate these verses by celebrating what God is doing with your life, as you would in prayer. Where has God turned your mourning into dancing, or redeemed and renewed you? Consider illustrating some of the blessings and gifts that God has given you, from small celebrations like a smile, to big celebrations like that of divine love.
